The aim of the programme is to allow students to obtain junior management and marketing positions within the Tourism and Travel Industry. To provide a pathway to the National Certificate in Adventure Tourism Level 4 and National Diploma in Tourism Management.
People awarded with this qualification are able to demonstrate customer service and communication skills, and work as a team. The qualification also recognises the skills involved in using the English Language, and mathematics in the context of the Tourism and Travel industry.
The course offered by Royal Business College has a special focus on Adventure Tourism which will appeal to those students with an interest in the outdoors and exploring opportunities to be involved in this area of tourism in the future.
The course is studied full time over 21 weeks. The course is arranged into three blocks of seven weeks duration. Each block comprises approximately 20 Credits. The course is studied full time for 18 hours per week. A minimum of 12 hours per week Self directed study (SDS) will be expected. The three blocks which make up the course are listed below. Students are required to achieve 66 Credits to be awarded the qualification.
Satisfactory completion of Year 12 New Zealand High School Programme or equivalent Overseas High School Programme. Candidates may enter based on demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills.
International students require to have a minimum IELTS 5.0
Students may be offered the opportunity to sit the RBC entry test as an alternative to IELTS to demonstrate an entry level equivalence.
